My good friend, Melissa, is a huge Peyton Manning fan. For those of you who don't know who he is, he is the quarterback for the colts. I knew I had to do something to incorporate that into her birthday cake, so this was what I came up with. The cake had a vanilla body with chocolate sleeves.

Olivia's Birthday cake
I made my little girl her birthday cake for her first birthday party. I wanted it to be a zebra theme so I made an outfit for her and even did zebra balloons, yes I know a little overboard, but man was it a fun cake to make!

Sassy Birthday Cake!
My most recent cake was for a co-worker/friend's wife, Rachel. She is such a sweet person and mother of 3 darling little girls. She is a very stylish and classy girl and I wanted the cake to represent that about her. I did a double tiered fondant cake with pink/black/white sparkled fondant. It took about 8 hours to make, but was so fun to create! The bottom layer was the standard chocolate with mousse filling and the top was vanilla cake with Chantilly cream filling. I had fabric flowers be the topper, because they are so elegant.
Russ's Birthday cake!
I made a cake for my brother Russ for his birthday. He is the ultimate thrill seeker and I wanted to represent that attribute in the cake. He is always outdoors: rock climbing, skiing, snowboarding, wake boarding, bungee jumping; if it is a risky he has done it or will do it. Since it is in the winter I decided to make it something he would do now so I did a ski hill. My brother loves one thing more than his hobbies and that is his family! I included my Sister in-law, Trisha, and nephew,Cannon. It was fun to make, but the first time doing fondant people. I did a vanilla base with a chocolate mountain. Oh yeah, I have to give props to my hubby who made the fondant trees, he did an amazing job!
Christmas Candies!!!
I love making candy and have been doing it every year since high school. I owe this passion to my sister in-law, Kirsten, who truly taught me what I know. She is an amazing cook and has truly inspired me to love cooking in general, but most of all cooking CANDY! I started out making candy and delivering it on little paper plates to just family and friends, and it has grown every year since then. I now make over 100 boxes of chocolates every year for Christmas and I love doing it! Some of the things in this last year box included:
-Peanut brittle
-Fudge
-Turtles
-Oreo treats
-Oreo truffles
-Peppermint bark
-Shattered glass (a type of hard candy)
-Oreo truffles
-Chocolate pretzels
In previous years I have done: Reeses cups, caramellos, popcorn, suckers, chocolate suckers and more!
Here are some pictures of my kitchen covered in the yummy goodies!

Candy Apples!
Candy apples make me happy and I can't help but smile and think of fall. I make candied apples every year just when the leaves turn color. Cold green apples are the key to making a good caramel apple. I love dressing them up with toppings to make them have a pizazz look to them:
